Designer Fascinators
A two-day course for those students who feel the desire to spread their design wings. Using techniques previously learnt, students will explore and develop more complex designs for small head pieces with emphasis on dimension. Let’s make something that will confound the professionals. Thought will be required to create pieces from mixed millinery media such as fabric and straw or sinemay. Students will create two pieces that will be the envy of all who see them.Specific materials to bring for this class
•half metre or a good-sized scrap of suitable material - silk or satin
•2 metres of veiling
• half metre of 15mm petersham ribbon
• selected feathers
• selected beads

Phillip will teach you his own technique fro creating a fantastic race day hat off the block and on your knee! You will never look back. Learn to let the brim wire do the work as well as the secret of insinuating shape by means of pressing up the hat in the hand. All this and suggestions for sensational trimmings. The aim is for professional finish that you can’t believe you created.Specific materials to bring for this class:
• unstiffened parisisal hood
• 2+ metres matching or contrasting petersham ribbon for head banding and trimming
• and/or 2+ metres matching or contrasting silk or satin fabric
• selected trimmings – flowers, feathers
